creating a great brief
When it comes to project organisation East Works make sure to understand the brief.
The brief is a key part of the planning process for any project, so we’ve put together a guide to help you create a brief that will make a huge difference to your project.
This is a great example of a brief, it’s simple and clearly lines out the deliverables expected from both the photography and videography teams.
When it comes to creating a brief of your own, make sure to include what you’re looking to gain from the shoot day. This could be anything from getting your brand’s message across to getting more customers through the door, if you are clear on what you want to gain from the shoot it makes everything run a lot smoother.
When we ask about deliverables, we really appreciate knowing exactly what you would like. For example, how many photos or videos and where they are going to be used. Knowing what format you need is also very helpful for us, as it allows us to get everything right the first time. It also minimises the need for changes in the final product.
One thing missing from the example brief is music for the videography. If you have a few songs that you think will suit your videos, please share them with us. This lets us find similar music for your videos, so that you won’t get copyright strikes and you’ll be able to advertise your videos.
It’s also really helpful to know timings, locations and the budget you have in place for the shoot.
We hope this has helped you in creating a great brief for your future projects with us.
