Setting a budget

Setting a realistic budget for your project is key to knowing what scale you’ll be working at. It also helps to have an idea in mind of what exactly you need from the project. You may need only videos and no photos, or vice versa, either way it’s good to know what is achievable with your budget. At East Works we know that times are tough, so we have put together a guide to help you get your budget right first time.

We’ve done some research, so didn’t have to. These are the average daily costs of the various roles that can be on set for a project.

At lower end of the costings for a full crew, you’d be looking at £3,150 and at the higher end, you’d be looking at £12,750. For a week of work that works out to be £22,050 at the lower end and £89,250 at the higher end.

That’s not even including any gear hire fees, props, editors, VFX artists, Voice Artists and location rentals. This is why it’s important to know what your budget for a project is.

Remember, you don’t always have to have a full production team for your project, so make sure you know exactly what you need.
